Bentley 2026 Continental GT S Blends Power, Luxury, and Prestige Perfectly

Bentley 2026 Continental GT S Blends Power, Luxury, and Prestige Perfectly
Since the introduction of the face lifted Continental GT in 2024, Bentley has expanded its coupe and convertible lineup, starting with the Speed plug-in hybrid. It followed up with its 771 horsepower monster in a "standard” car, then GT Azure, GT Mulliner, and wild rear drive GT Supersport. Now, it's bringing a new sweet spot to the lineup that divides the difference between the base Conti and GT Speed, it's called the GT S. It's not just a car,  As with previous V8S models, Bentley engineers took the Continental GT on the base and adapted it to all upgrades of GT Speed, which lacked a more powerful engine. Don't worry, this powertrain will complete the job and get some. It's just a few more spectacular than a standard car, so you'll be able to convince yourself that it's worth it. True, it is not cheap by the usual definition of the word, but it is not here or there. After all, regardless of the body style you choose, there is an argument that the Continental GT is the best car on sale today.

Yes, it's obscenely expensive, but as I said in the past, it's also obscenely good. It does not change with the GT S, thanks to the wonderful V8 engine, a lot of all-electric driving range, one of the best interiors that money can buy, looks that put other cars to shame, and makes you start wondering how unmistakable the laws of physics really are driving dynamics. The recipe for building a Continental GT S is not particularly complicated. Take the Baseconti GT and rip everything under except the drivetrain and replace that crap with running gear from GT Speed. Bing, bang, boom. Work is done. Well, it may not be so easy, but that's the essence of the car.The magic of the GT S lies in the 48-volt performance active chassis inherited from speed. It takes an air spring with standard rear axle steering, active anti-roll bar, torque vectoring, standard GT adaptive damper and electronically controlled limited slip differential and turns everything up to 11.

The system can move the torque of the powertrain both front and back and left and right. It is mighty impressive and helps to hide the GT S's certainly substantial girth. According to Bentley, its torque split runs on rear-wheel drive in most dry and good traction conditions and is just a bit aggressive out of the box. You'll find it hard to feel too much difference between comfort and "Bentley" mode over a standard car, but once things are shifted to the sport, all you need to do is try to get the best out of it.Another part of the S drivability comes in the form of its impressive electric active anti-roll control system, which can add up to 1,000 pound-feet of pressure to the shock of the car to counteract rolling the big car Conti wants to do naturally. The engineer told me that they did not program all of the rolls of the car, but because it would just make everything feel a bit strange. I can't say I disagree with them.

Of course, there are some design differences between the S and the regular GT. That is, Bentley designers installed a large number of shiny black treatments around the outside, grille and windows. It also works with the new 22-inch wheels. Inside is as customizable as ever, but there is a unique color split for the seat S, and a dark chrome trim option to choose from.Since we no longer live in a world where Bentley runs multiple engines in the Continental GT its plug-in hybrid twin turbocharged 4.0 Ri hell, the only difference in power output levels is software and tuning. That's why the S is a special handling intended for the type of person who is crazy about driving but doesn't want to bother around GT450,000 at GT Speed. The only powertrain difference possible with the S is the addition of an optional Akrapovic exhaust system that is not available on the base car but is available at speed. I can't talk about how it sounds, but judging by how good the regular S exhaust sounds, it would be great.

Anyway, the Continental GT's standard powertrain is hellish, so don't worry. Out of the box, the twin-turbo V8 and the electric motor make 512 and 188 horsepower, respectively. combined with their power, the GT S has a whopping 671 horsepower and 686 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor is trapped into a pack of 20kWh batteries that should feed well over 40 miles of the whole electric range if the car is not pushed too hard. According to Bentley, with the help of the porsche-supposed PDK gearbox, it will provide enough power to send the 5,421 pound coupe to 3.3〜0mph in 60 seconds (the GTC S will be 5,811 pounds and hit 3.6 in 60 seconds). It will also go to a top speed of 191mph.As I mentioned a while ago, the GT S drives pretty similarly to the standard GT in comfort and Bentley mode, but things get spicy in the sport. Bentley is actually touting that its comfort is now the same across its entire lineup, so no matter what GT you go into, it's much harder, in any case, to turn the wonderful-feeling dial into a sport, with springs, dampers and anti-roll bars all stiffening.

The all-wheel drive system starts sending more power to the rear, the suspension drops by 0.4 inches; and all sorts of clever math is done to readjust the steering and torque vectoring of the rear wheels. Stability control can also loosen the reins much more than a standard GT and just have more fun.In Bentley and comfort mode, it's the quietest cruiser that runs in the best luxury limousine I've ever driven. It features brilliant massage seats, top-notch adaptive cruise control, Bangin' 1,500 watt 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen Stereo (even Bangin' 2,200 watt Naim system is also available), and a great combination of advanced driver-assist technology from the Volkswagen Group. It has a nice suite. The interior is as good as ever and feels fresh despite the fact that it's eight years old at this time. Forbidden Toblerone is still a great gimmick. This could really make you a daily daily chauffeur unless you're carrying too much. That big battery eats a hell of a lot of trunk rooms.

Of course, none of that matters because the S is really about back-road driving and it's where it works best. It's not a Lotus or a Porsche 911, as the laws of physics exist somewhat, but it's much closer than anything this big and heavy.Hudson Valley Road twistiest, the Conti GT'S of the goldilocks formula mainly in the center of feedback and heavy and a direct steering feel, upgrade your engine, fit stickier tires, and strip out weight to cut every drive provided it is a coupe and drop top both in check and enjoy the movement of the body helps to maintain. This car is Sport Bentley is assumed exactly like feel.Technically, these cars are the basic prices have in recorded history, no one basic specifications of the Bentley bought this really does not matter. But you have to know if the GT S and GTC S the price of each destination, including respectively 296,150 and 3325,350 at the start.

I drove 2 cars, Beluga and Newmarket Tan coupe of Thunder and the Beluga and Hotspur convertible in Glacier White, and both based in the far North to the price and carry, respectively respectively 341,990 and 3379,550 came in. However, the Bentley if you want to buy, it really is not a concern, these cars of the specification is not a problem. You want them most can be made, but you didn't want them to. On the face of it, you wouldn't expect there to be a huge niche for those who want to mix the suspension with the engine and speed of the base car, but Bentley feels there's enough pie to cut another slice. Bentley loves to give people options, so why not give 1 more?
