Peugeot is famous for producing practical cars with a somewhat quirky design. In recent years, one of its bestsellers has been with 3008. In the latest iteration, the 3008 is available as a fully electric vehicle for the first time under the name e-3008. The FWD version has 2 different battery options (73kWh and 98kWh), while the AWD version is paired with a smaller battery. The 98kwh AWD version is not currently available, but you won't be surprised to see it later. The model we are testing today is the Peugeot e-3008GT Electric73kWh FWD. This is a smaller car battery size, but larger than what most competitors offer. Our car was equipped with the GT-line, the best trim available to order.
The current generation Peugeot 3008 has come out on the market for a couple of years and enjoys great interest from customers, here and there for its attractive appearance and practical interior with a great touch. The Peugeot 3008 was launched in 2008. From the front, the Peugeot e-3008 immediately collides with running lights that look like traces of tiger claws, piercing the bumper. This is a distinctive feature that most current Peugeot models are integrated with. The front grille appears to come out of the bumper itself, with multiple rectangles dispersed outwards. This adds to the offensive face and the new sinister black Peugeot logo complements it well.
Viewed from the side, the e-3008 employs a trending SUV-coupe profile, with an inclined rear end, further deviating from its early typical SUV styling. It compromises headroom and storage at the back, but results in better aerodynamics and a better look. One thing that stands out is the unique wheel design on the market. It combines old school elements with modern lines. The wheels seem to be "flat", and the spokes do not stem from the center, but run parallel to each other. It is certainly a distinctive appearance, but the opinion is divided on its attractiveness. With a plethora of rear angles and cuts, including a rear spoiler and a taillight bar that separates the individual design elements, however, may be too much for some taste.
Speaking of taillights, we incorporate a three-dash design to match the appearance of the front. Once again, the lighting itself is performed in a great way. Peugeot and many of its French brothers are famous for their bizarre interiors, and the e-3008 continues its tradition. Angles and sharp angles dominate the entire cockpit, giving it a bit of a sci-fi look. We find such designs to be a breath of fresh air in a world littered with minimalist interiors. We have to start by pointing out how great the seats are. They are well enhanced and comfortable and offer the comfort of a creature typical of a large luxury limousine. This can well turn into the main selling point of the e-3008 for people who are planning to spend a lot of time in the car.

The Peugeot e-3008 comes with a leather seat with heating, cooling and even massage as needed. The massage feature is not just a gimmick, but it pushes hard enough to really reduce pressure and can be adjusted in numerous different intensities and zones. When you sit comfortably, grab the steering wheel, which has an irregular shape, like a typical Peugeot. It sits low and is very small, realizing only 2 spokes. The cruise control and multimedia buttons give you a piano black finish that just casts a glance in their direction and even gets covered in fingerprints and dust. On the left side of the steering wheel is a small panel with buttons and coin slots on the heating of the windshield and the opening of the trunk.
Coin slots are popular on some European cars, and you can store changes for some quick roadside payments, but this can store a single coin, and it is virtually impossible unless you need it for your supermarket cart or something. Useless rendering. The shape and position of the steering wheel is determined by the gauge cluster at a very high position on the dashboard. Peugeot has tried to address long-standing customer complaints about earlier wheels that block the view of the gauge cluster. This layout does not completely solve the problem, but it is somewhat mitigated. Gauge clusters and multimedia displays are part of the same unit.
The 10-inch infotainment display incorporates a lot of information and settings, but the most important one has a dedicated button. But it is surrounded by hard plastic of piano black, which makes the appearance of this area cheaper. Elsewhere, the materials used are good and the overall build quality is great. The design of the interior is traditionally angular and quirky, but everything works well. Just below the small central screen is a wireless phone charging pad that works amazingly well. We are mostly used to pads that just put the charge and heat the phone, but the e-3008 does it right. The center console is huge and incorporates the most used climate control and drive mode selectors.
On the right there is a large storage pocket, but it is open to the opposite side of the screwdriver, which makes it difficult to use and see what's inside. The space behind is an average one. Our reviewer is 1.94m (6'4") high and can just squeeze. The sloping roofline significantly reduces headroom, but also lacks knee room. Rear occupants are definitely much more comfortable in the larger Peugeot e-5008, where the same platform is stretched to provide more cabin space. The driving assistant works well and does not intrude too much with the driving experience. The lane keeping assistant is sensible and can easily be overwritten by a slightly stiff push on the steering wheel, while the speed limit warning chime so quietly so far, as opposed to the loud beeps that many other vehicles produce.

Turning off these assistants is also easy as you can create shortcuts on the central screen and turn them off every time you start the car. Peugeot gave the e-3008 enough technology to feel modern, but not cutting-edge. Many of the buyers do not like the presence of a huge screen and the e-3008 keeps a few physical buttons and adds a preset screen without making the car feel outdated. The bottom screen in the middle of the dashboard is lined with preset buttons, which is a great touch in terms of practicality. It might be even better by giving it more personalization options and making it less lag, but it can set some menus as shortcuts as they are, but not make submenus.
The main screen does not have the best interface, because some characters are too small to read while driving. Even if you have never been to a Peugeot car before, it is, however, very simple and easy to understand. Even though it has an entire screen for shortcuts, there are also two buttons on the left side of the screen that are always present and work as home menu and driving settings shortcuts. mPeugeot has mastered a soft and effortless ride for many years. The E-3008 carries on its tradition, with a comfortable cabin and a long journey of spring. This results in a nice comfort interior and almost no sense of bumps or potholes.
Only a very uneven road can bounce passengers inside, but the feeling remains cozy. The Peugeot e-3008 is quiet for its class and the ambient noise is reduced to a minimum. At high speeds, wind and tire noise are generated inside, which is typical of the size and shape of the e-3008 and will not be too cumbersome. Peugeot had no intention to turn the e-3008 into a sports car by electrifying it and it shows in all of its driving characteristics. The acceleration is fast enough, but not very impressive. From the very first meter of acceleration, you will not get an instant kick typical of an electric car. Instead, power is gradually provided to maintain comfort and the wheels do not rotate in sport mode.
The brakes, on the other hand, are quite impressive, and some much more sporty cars can take some note from Peugeot in its division. To slow down from 100 km/h to 0, it took 35 m (114'10"), which was done with winter tires on the dusty surface. But the most impressive part was that the e-3008 did this test 5 times in a row with the same result. Also, the feel of the brake pedal is smooth and communicative, so you can precisely control the braking force in every instance.Being a FWD vehicle with reasonably large battery capacity, we expect the e-3008 to be able to cover long distances with a single charge. This is exactly the case, and the e-3008 proves efficiency and a champion of the range, making it a very attractive choice for those suffering from range anxiety.
The Peugeot e-3008's maximum charging speed of 160kW is pretty good, but the charging curve bends pretty quickly, and charging 20%-80% takes 30 minutes. It's not a bad achievement, but some competitors are much better. Peugeot has been making the 35-plus 3008 for over a year and its latest version is nearing perfection for the segment it inhabits. It's not a car that shines with technological advances, but one that can fulfill loyalty to its owner without really being disappointed anywhere. The Peugeot e-3008 is a great blend of modernity and style that provides all the passengers needed for comfortable travel.
